Played at the College named after Gustav II Adolf
During Sunday night, four players from the Gustavus Adolphus College hockey team were involved in a serious road accident.
Three girls were seriously injured and one died.
Their hockey team, playing with three crowns on their chest, won the national college championship that year.
Four players from the Gustavus Adolphus College hockey team were involved in a serious car accident on Sunday, the Star Tribune reported.
Three occupants of the car survived with serious injuries, while one of them, 19-year-old Juri Jones, died of his injuries.
Go on vacation with the team
The accident occurred in Minnesota, USA. The car with the four players collides head-on with an oncoming pickup truck.
Three cars full of players from the team were on their way for a break to enjoy the pre-season.
After the accident, the school, still closed for the summer, decides to organize a party to honor the deceased Jones.
“She came to the rink with a positive attitude every day. I’ve been coaching hockey at this level for 17 years, but I’ve never coached a character like Jory before. It was an honor to know her, ”says the team’s coach, Craig Rosenthal.
Won the national championships
The Swedish-American college the girls attended, and the hockey team they played for, are named after Gustav II Adolf and they play their games with three crowns on their chests.
Earlier in the year, the team took home national championships at the college level.
