Inter have a dangerous Argentine player and Milan have a dangerous left winger – which means that the Serie A title battle will continue into the next final round.
Valencia management? It’s still dangerous in a completely different way.
Here are Makoto Asahara’s three thoughts from this past football weekend.
Lautaro / Dybala – A striker husband you want to see …
leagueThe fight for the title is still live in the upcoming final round.
Thanks to the fact that the Argentine superstar has found shape when he needs it.
After Milan fell to Atalanta (which we’ll come to in the next thinking), it was Inter under pressure who went into the away game against Cagliari.
Cagliari fighting for his presence in the Italian league with beaks and claws after a season has not been successful at all.
In other words, the red and blue trip wire is very visible. A tough game away from home, spurred on by this week’s Gold Cup celebration, which missed out on a golden opportunity for the Nerazzurri.
At the same time, this Inter version has a great match winner.
Lautaro Martinez has not only scored two winning goals but has also been a constant concern, a bundle of energy and an attacking guiding light. He was with Inter Milan last month.
And that’s despite the fact that none of his fellow attackers have felt as bruised and dehydrated as Romelu Lukaku did last year. Edin Dzeko may be experienced and helpful, but he often occupies the same areas as the Argentine. Joaquin Correa compliments best this way, but is uneven and prone to injury.
The person who could have been the ideal partner in the future is Paulo Dybala.
Rumors swirled about Dybala’s sure farewell to Juventus this summer. Toothpick in blue and black, completely Argentine on top, with properties that can complement each other in an incredibly beautiful and effective way, automatically looks interesting.
So even if hiring Dybala itself is interesting, it will probably be more fun if you keep Lautaro as well. A Lautaro who, after all, was rumored one way or another before the summer window, for Inter needs to add to the transfer window.
If I were Marotta’s sporting director, I would really prioritize keeping him – and that’s no matter what happens to Dybala.
… just as you want to see Milan’s left flank
While the Argentine’s attacking burrow has ensured Inter’s title dreams are fulfilled, the red and black left winger has ensured that Milan are still in pole position before the decision is made.
It would seem a bit disrespectful to raise an end of the well-formed and somewhat over-performing team machine that Milan, with limited resources, has already built under coach Stefan Pioli and father-in-law Zlatan Ibrahimovic (because yes, of course that is his main contribution during The last race of the season. But OJ what is the left wing.
1-0 against Atalanta came through Rafa Liao. A player I’ve been crazy about in this column before and would love to go crazy again. Because there are few players who are as fun to watch as the technically talented Portuguese. a little fast. Little irrational. Of course he still has some unevenness and of course he can sometimes get frustrated in the same way he can excel. But if there is one trait that should be highly regarded by an attacking player, it is the sigmoid factor. Whoever makes a defense can never rest when facing a player. Which makes it a risky move every time a coach chooses to replace a player – because the player in question always has the ability to make wine from water.
Rafa Liao is such a player. A player like Milan must do everything in his power to keep him – and also in the long run build his squad and attack.
Just like left-back Theo Hernandez.
Perhaps no left-back in the world can score the solo goal that Theo Hernandez scored with 2-0. Perhaps there are few players, regardless of their position, who from their penalty area, with such clarity, can run straight across the entire football field, bypassing the entire opposing team, and clearly put the ball into the opposite goal.
The goal highlighted all the strengths of the French full-back. Speed, technology, will, drive and lungs. We already knew he was one of the best attacking left-backs in the world. Perhaps the most beautiful goal of his career was another reminder of that.
So when Milan, if ownership is changed and financial muscle is pumped up as reported in the summer, will build on their squad for next season, there is at least one advantage they must leave unchanged or altered.
Valencia breaks new records in the crisis
Valencia played 1-1 in a wholly insignificant away game against Espanyol on Saturday. It was so small that it was not allowed to be played at the same time as all the other matches in the penultimate round of La Liga (where table-related matches are played simultaneously in both the last and penultimate round).
But Valencia is still devoted to reflection – due to the shocking revelation of local sports magazine Superdeporte.
During a lunch featuring heavily criticized president Anil Murthy, who was put into office by much criticized owner Peter Lim and was secretly taped, Murthy spoke about one and the other in relation to the club. He said, among other things:
– That he threatened Barcelona with rumors that Carlos Soler had allowed the Spanish media to “kill him” with a smear campaign if he were to leave the club, who explicitly wanted to leave all season, without Valencia making money from it.
– He believes coach Jose Bordalas is complicated and that he already has a potential replacement for the coach, who led Valencia to the first cup final since 2019. A year in which Marcelino was sacked (mainly because of his success).
– That the player lineup will be reduced for more financial reasons than was already the case. Hence the band has definitely lost weight over the years.
– That the club’s financial situation is even worse than it really was and that they have no money at all.
Having sporting directors in general who just think it’s okay to “spend money that doesn’t belong to them”, at the same time highlights sporting director Monchi as the main reason for the success of rival Seville.
These are just some of the things that have appeared in the Superdeporte series of ads. which is still running.
The fact that Valencia under Peter Lim and Anil Murthy have consistently broken new records in crisis and mismanagement may not have escaped anyone – which is really nothing surprisingly new when it comes to Valencia owners.
But every crisis record broken by the former top club is equally frustrating. Nadi’s existence is still in mortal danger for as long as the Lim/Murthy company survives.
