Solna / Stockholm. There were no words to describe the disappointment after losing the derby.
Jenny Danielsson’s AIK qualified last in Damallsvenskan with three points.
– I have to stop all the time. I kind of want to start crying, says Danielson.
AIK had the match advantage in the first half of the derby against Djurgården.
But after defensive mistakes and missed opportunities in front of AIK, the opponents pulled the longest straw in the Stockholm derby and won 4-2.
After the match, AIK’s Jenny Danielson grieved.
– There are no words. tiring. Depressed. I don’t know. Danielson says sorry, I don’t know.
What makes you frustrated?
– I felt the first half was still good and we were in the match but when we make mistakes we get punished right away and we have to chase them again. Then we well don’t get a bastard ball even if it’s that kind indoors. So… with five players in goal… I don’t get it, that’s unlucky. Can’t even explain it.
“I kind of want to start crying”
Jenny Danielson herself was unlucky when she grabbed her hand and inflicted a penalty.
We may not even have to analyze that much. Maybe just thinking football is fun, because that’s it. But for now, it seems a little tricky, she says.
How much emotion is there now?
– Many. That’s why I have to pause all the time. I kind of want to start crying. But… you just have to come back fast as hell. There is not much to say.
An extra heavy for AIK was that captain Hannah Davison was forced to leave Skytteholm on crutches after they stepped sideways.
I don’t know if my feet were stuck in the grass or if I landed strangely. Davison says there was no connection.
How are you feeling now?
– It hurts, but I think it’s a good thing. Injuries that heal quickly are usually painful at first. A little ice and rest now. We take it day in and day out.
AIK organization in Damallsvenskan
The captain will be investigated but he hopes to return already when AIK meets Eskilstuna United on Thursday.
– The shift should come directly on Thursday. There’s no time to waste anymore, it has to happen regardless of whether someone is dead, injured, feeling bad, or in a little bit of pain, says Jenny Danielson.
She says the football gods are not the only ones who faced AIK at the start of the season who only gave three points in seven games.
– All the gods. There are a lot of different things, they are all against us. We just have to change it up and stop caring about everything that’s going on and all the other consequences.
