AIK wins tug of war for IFK Värnamos Abdussalam Magashy.

According to Sportbladet’s info, he has now picked up the midfielder – and is expected to sign for the club within the next week.

Last week, Sportbladet was able to reveal that IFK Värnamos midfielder Abdusalam Megashi is leaving the club and several top clubs in Allsvenskan are chasing him. IFK Götborg, IFK Norrköping and several other big teams have been involved in a tug-of-war for the midfielder, whose contract with IFK Värnamo expires at the end of the year. Now the player has also made his choice.

Magashi has now verbally agreed with AIK on a contract and is expected to sign the player for the club within the next week if nothing unexpected happens. The two sides have been in discussions for a long time and are now in agreement.

Abdusalam Magachy, 24, was a key player at IFK Värnamo last season and played 30 matches in Allsvenskan, scoring four goals and three assists. AIK is looking for a central midfielder after Sebastian Larsson left the club and should also be aware that Yassine Ayari and Bilal Hussein could be sold this winter.

Nobbed many big clubs

Magashy also reportedly had a number of foreign options, but one player was clear he wanted to stay in Sweden in order to obtain Swedish citizenship.

AIK has also previously signed FC Honka winger Rui Modesto, who is also expected to sign for the club soon. The 23-year-old Portuguese can play outside midfielder and so-called wing-back and scored six goals and provided ten assists in the Finnish league last year.
