Åke Stakkestad is HV71’s first new acquisition next season

HV71 made its first new acquisition for the upcoming season.

Former JVM striker Åke Stakkestad left Beck Karlskoga for Jönköping.

– This is a player with high working capacity and great demeanor, says sporting director Kent “Nobin” Norberg.

Newcomer HV71 finished 11th and took three SM qualifying spots after a successful season finish.

Kent “Nobin” Norberg can for the first time make a team from the start of the summer break.

Åke Stakkestad from Kungälv became the first new acquisition with a two-year contract.

For the past four seasons, the skilled, hardworking center has played with Beck Karlskoga in Hockeyallsvenskan.

A tough guy to play with and likes to press all over the field. Kent “Nobin” Norberg says it will be exciting to see him tackle SHL games.

Looking forward to the boiling yard

He’s also a player who has made his own way without tweaking for television and any of hockey’s biggest high schools.

– It’s inspiring to come to HV71. I look forward to taking new steps in my development as a hockey player and contributing to hard working games. Åke Stakkestad says it will be a lot of fun to play in front of the crowd at Husqvarna’s Boiling Garden.

Previously, HV71 finished with Thomas Montaigne as new head coach and Per Gustafsson as continuing assistant coach.

It is also clear that Taylor Vissel, Chad Billins, Kali Malaliti, Taylor Mattson and Andy Mele will leave the team.
