Alexander Geremjev on Panathinaikos: “Levadiakos must be saved first”

In 2022 he rescued Hacken.

Now 29-year-old Alexander Geremjev has signed for Panathinaikos but first has to save Levadiakos in a brutal battle as fans make him a potential superhero.

– I’ve seen the picture. it is fun! Archery king says in the first interview after the move.

Swedish players have a good reputation in Greece. So there were positive tones when Sportbladet revealed Panathinaiko’s quest to shoot Allsvenskan king Alexander Jeremejeff.

After the league leaders lost to PAOK in the cup that day, hopes for Geremjev’s arrival were higher – and the subsequent outcry from Panathinaikos fans that he would be immediately loaned out to fellow Levadiakos.

It’s funny that Panathinaikos fans appreciate me. I didn’t drop out to join Panathinaikos right away, but at the same time the team was advancing strongly in the league and I’m at the beginning of the pre-season. I’m buying this arrangement on loan, says Jeremejeff when Sportbladet gets it.

clear plan

– There is a clear logical plan for me, in the summer I will return to Panathinaikos. I will do everything to try to help Levadiakos now.

On Saturday morning he had his first training session with the top 12 in his new hometown, Livadia, 100km northwest of Athens.

Everyone is very nice and open. It feels really good.

If the papers can be completed in time, he can make his debut already on Sunday when Levadiakos faces Lamia.

The reception was equally warm from the supporters of the small club.

In an Instagram photo, the Swedish striker was painted as a would-be club superhero with a cape, lightning bolts and halo in the mountains above Livadia.

– One of the leaders in the club showed me the photo before training. It’s fun, says Jeremejeff and adds:

– I’ll need this gown now. I lost my bag on the flight here on Thursday and have had the same clothes now for three days…

Are the expectations reasonable?

– we will see. I am more ready for the challenge and the move now than when I went to Dynamo Dresden and Twente. Now I know how it works and what are the requirements.

– But a superhero? Well… I need my teammates too, Yeremjeev says with a laugh.

The family is growing up in Greece

With his arrival in Greece, he had the advisor, ex-striker Daniel Larsson, working with Geremjev’s agent, Marcus Rosenberg.

– Daniel has a good understanding of Greece since he was at Aris and I played with a Greek at Twente that I spoke to. I know what I’m getting myself into – and it feels so tempting.

How many different bids did you get to choose from?

– There have been a number of options since last summer. It has already been written about. With Panathinaikos everything will look very good in terms of football, a high level in an interesting league, maybe Champions League matches, big matches in front of big crowds, finances and above all life on the sidelines, for the whole family, says Alexander Geremjev.

– At Panathinaikos, I immediately heard about Markus Berg. A leader called by God. He has a great position there.

In just over a month, Alexander Geremjeev and his wife Lana will become parents of two children. Before, the couple had a 2.5-year-old daughter who will have a younger sister.

– The idea is that they drop right off so we can be together here around the birth. We get an apartment in Livadia but in the summer we move to the Athens area.

Confirms discussions with Baggin

How close are you to moving to Hammarby?

– I don’t want to comment on the details in the various discussions, but Jesper Jansson confirmed they were interested. I was open minded and listened to what was serious and concrete. I didn’t lock any doors, but I was mainly anxious to come outside again.

He wants to stress how strong his feelings are for BK Häcken:

– I like the club. They took me from Qviding and I came back to Häcken twice from other clubs. We have grown and won together. It’s my home but now is the time to get out of your comfort zone and then you never know what’s going to happen in the future.

Does this move make you look forward to the national team matches?

– Now the first priority is to help Levadiakos. I am very excited about this mission. I want to develop as a player and as a person. If I do a show in Greece, I think the national team management will see that.
