Alicia Russo in England tried to steal the German tactical card

Alicia Russo peeks at the German tactical patch.

Many are enjoying and celebrating the England player’s boldness.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Helps take a look even if you don’t know German.”

Supersub Chloe Kelly had just scored 2-1 for England in the 110th minute of the European Championship final at Wembley.

Then Germany captain Martina Voss Tecklenburg sent tactical instructions handwritten on a piece of paper to the players on the field.

Sarah Dorsson was reading the letter when Alicia Russo slipped behind her and slid over her shoulder.

“I would love for the English team to try and peek at the German instructions written on a piece of paper, as if they could read German. Worth a try,” writes one of the tweets.

Some speculate that Alicia Russo immediately realized that she could not speak German and gave up.

“get to know me”

Regular substitute Alicia Russo, who was popular with fans after a back-to-back goal in the semi-final against Sweden, was praised for her audacity.

“I love him,” “She does whatever it takes,” and “Genius” were some of the reactions on social media.

Many compare it to someone crossing out homework or snooping on someone next to them on a test, followed by a laughing emoji.

“I get to know myself in Rousseau. Of course you can look at the cheat sheet,” Dusan Omisevich wrote at SVT Sport.

Germany never succeeded in achieving any equivalent pursuit after the tactical slap.
