Frida Karlsson and Maja Dalqvist choose to say no to the national team because there are too many camp days.
Anna Devick is now critical of the arrangement that made the stars jump.
“I’d rather see Frida and Maja be with me in one or two camps than none,” she says.
Choose last season Anna Davic To get out of the national team and bet themselves on the Olympics. Therefore, the 27-year-old was a soccer field for his friend Maja Dalqvist during the spring.
– Maja called and talked to me about your fear of not being there if that was the case, she says and continues:
I must have tried to cheer her up. Because it might seem like a big step, but not getting involved in it really isn’t a huge thing.
“sad message”
The news that the stars chose their path came as no shock to her teammates in the national team. Discussions about the transfer agreement have been many and long.
– Of course, it was a sad message because they are two strong skaters who have maintained a high level for several seasons. They were really a strength in the team, says Ebba Anderson.
“We’re obviously going to miss Maja and Frida and I’m obviously a bit put off despite having discussions about agreements,” says Emma Rabom.
Both Dalqvist and Carlson highlighted the lack of flexibility around national team camps as an important part of why they chose to say no. Devik buys this explanation.
– Personally, I think that the national team activity should not have many camp days. There is a lot of travel and recovery worse. Continuity in training is important.
“Not good for us skaters.”
In addition to Dalqvist and Carlson, the women’s national team lost to Lynn Svan, who also chose to bet herself, and Charlotte Calla, who quit.
– It’s not good for us skaters. That’s what has been key to us skaters and we’ve trained together a lot. I would have preferred to see that I had Frieda and Maja in one or two camps rather than none. I think it could have been better from my point of view.
