The best of all times.
IK Sävehof has been a constant in Swedish handball. dominant.
And, of course, this could be the beginning of another era of greatness.
The last time Sävehof won gold in Sweden was when the series finale was presented in 2018/2019. This is three years ago. It hasn’t been that long since gold took off in the early 2000s.
Bartelle FC consolidated the stars of the national team and reaped gold on the assembly line. Now they are back on the throne.
It was an annoying and sometimes very angry final streak between the two best teams in Sweden at the moment. Feelings overwhelmed. Just as it should be when everything is on the line.
Defending champion Skoro may have been shocked when he won his first away match. Then Sävehof went to his house and read the lesson. He started in the second match and gave themselves a golden opportunity before the fourth match in Eriksdalen.
The hosts’ move to start the evening with a defensive 6-0 may have made up for Sävehof at Eriksdalshallen. But in the end, there was no talk of it.
Eight balls tonight and 3-1 in games.
Show an unparalleled show
The party team has shown evidence of its breadth unparalleled in this series. This latest series was about strong teamwork. She was topped by the biggest star of them all: Jamina Roberts.
The 31-year-old, who grew up in Sävehof, returned home at Partille 2020 and in recent years has truly grown into a global superstar. Her playful qualities, temperament, and drive have been invaluable this season.
She is a player who can create calmness and be the best, even if she doesn’t reach one hundred percent.
When it comes to the last streak, perhaps above all else, her assists and production in the second and third games are impressive.
Her departure from top Norwegian club Vipers is of course a problem for Partille. How to replace the most valuable players in the series will be the alternative of Emil Berggren’s main interest. The sporting director announced in the middle of the final series that he had chosen to leave Sävehof to move with Roberts and his family to Kristiansand.
stars on the way
Tears flowed after the final signal. The crushed Skurus players mingled with the winning Sävehof players.
And it could be an emotional farewell to coach Rasmus Overby and players like Angelica Wallen, Trane Mortensen, Jamina Roberts and Sophie Burgesson tonight. But the feeling is that this is just the beginning of a new era of greatness.
Because even if the stars leave, new things will come. For the upcoming season, Sävehof is strengthening with a world star in the form of Spanish winger Carmen Martin. It’s not without me that I’ve already started for a long time until we start the series again.
But first, the Sävehof will have to celebrate it properly. Who runs the party? Jamina Roberts, of course.
