Anton Pearson dominated the figure skating season.
Perhaps most impressive: he did it with a torn cruciate ligament.
You want to try to be as tough as Zlatan, says the sprint specialist.
The Smart Power Cup in Falun, the super sprint at Idre, the Inge Bråten Invitational in Sunne and the sprint during the Alliansloppet in Trollhättan.
Anton Pearson won the most snowboarding races of the summer – despite rupturing one of his cruciate ligaments during the summer.
It’s an old football injury that aggravated it. It may have been 50 percent off before, and now it’s 100 percent off, says Pearson, who rolls on roller skates in particular.
Inspired by Zlatan
The accident occurred on June 25, but the sprint specialist received the news a few weeks later and continued to train and compete with a ruptured cruciate ligament through the summer. There are currently no plans to repair the damage either.
The plan for us is to drive as long as possible. As I understand it, quite a few athletes have managed to perform this type of injury. Dan Richardson drove without during the Olympics in Sochi and Zlatan played the entire season in Serie A last year with an injury similar to that…
Are you inspired by him?
– Yes exactly. You want to try to be tough like Zlatan.
Pearson doesn’t hinder his training, but he does have to put a little extra energy into his injured knee.
I have felt almost no pain since I cut myself. It’s more than I’m feeling a tear in my leg and the muscles have to work harder, but you have to work it out with rehab and stretching. If it doesn’t work, you have to make a new decision and maybe work in the spring, he says.
What are your expectations for this season?
– I want to fight in the finals and once you’re there, anything can happen.
