Arsenal beat West Ham against Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger is back for the first time.

He then managed to see Arsenal turn around and win the second day’s derby against West Ham.

“There is only one Arsene Wenger,” fans chanted to their former coach.

Arsene Wenger now works with FIFA and has previously said he has no plans to visit his former stadium.

When it came time for the classic Boxing Day soccer game, the former Arsenal boss changed his mind after an invitation from the club.

Arsenal hosted West Ham at the Emirates Stadium with Arsene Wenger in the stands, for the first time since he stepped down from his position between 1996 and 2018.

If Wenger is still supportive of Arsenal, he could have had an enjoyable experience on Monday.

Wave after the song

When Arsenal turned a 2-1 lead in the second half, the crowd celebrated the goal by chanting “There’s only one Arsene Wenger”.

The Frenchman responded by waving to the crowd and together they watched Arsenal play some fantastic football as the goal made it 3-1 ten minutes later. Eddie Nketiah scored his first goal of the season when he scored in the final scoreline after a pattern attack.

“It’s one of the best performances I’ve seen in the Premier League this year,” says expert Jonas Olsson in Fiplay after the match.

Arsenal now lead the English Premier League by seven points from Newcastle and eight points from Manchester City. The defending champions from Manchester have played one game less and Newcastle have played one game more.
