Baggio fears after the death of Vialli and Mihajlovic

What did we really get?

Former Italian soccer star Dino Baggio wants an investigation to determine what all the dietary and nutritional supplements he took as a player in the 90s contained.

The question has been raised since the death of Gianluca Vialli and Sinisa Mihajlovic after serious illnesses.

In an interview with the Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta Della Sport, as quoted by the French news agency, Baggio – during his active career as a midfielder for Juventus, Parma and Lazio – expressed concern about the nutritional supplements he was asked to take as a player. Accelerate physical recovery.

He also explained that the matter was not stimulants, but legal and approved preparations.

“I simply want to know from scientists whether the supplements we’ve taken can cause problems in our bodies in the long term,” says Baggio, 51.

Mihajlovic died in December of complications from leukemia at the age of 53. Vialli suffered from pancreatic cancer a few years ago and passed away at the beginning of January at the age of 58.

My reflection comes from the pain I feel after the death of Vialli, who I always considered a friend and who helped me a lot, from Mihajlovic and many others I played with in the 90s, says Baggio.

– There are many who left us and I think we have to check the medicines taken during that period. Maybe there’s nothing to it, maybe we’ll figure something out.

“Extreme caution must be exercised.”

Roberto Mancini, captain of the Italian national team, teammate and friend of Vialli since childhood, does not share Dino Baggio’s concerns.

– We have to be very careful in this matter. Unfortunately, these diseases affect all kinds of people, both football-playing and non-football players.

Florin Radocio, the Romanian striker, told Orange Sport in his country of origin that he wanted to discuss the matter with his old doctor at Brescia.

– I don’t know what you got for anything. They told me it was glucose. Raducioiu says it was a pink liquid prepared the day before the game, in the evening at the hotel.
