– It’s a little disappointing but deep down I knew how hard it was, says Bingstrom who could change the branch to the European Championship.
From his eighth in the second semi-final, the task was to get the top two places or get two times better in the semi-finals.
Bengtstrom quickly passed candidates Alison Dos Santos and Trevor Bassett. In the race, he came off strong but had to gain fourth place in time 48.75.
From the stands, he saw four other men who beat his time in the last semi-final, so the World Cup was over.
– I knew it was going to be very difficult, it wasn’t enough all the way but it’s close. He says I am doing my 3rd fastest in my career,
How was it like following the decision?
– He was nervous, but I knew it would be as difficult as the stage. That wasn’t really enough.

Now he’s reloading it for the European Championships in Munich later this summer. But then it can be a branch change.
We had a little plan to run the 400m smoothly, but it’s probably going to be the hurdles. We’ll see a little bit what the starting lists look like and where the opportunities are best, he says.
What do you think you can do in the 400m outside?
– I’ve done 45.33 inside and I think I can do under 45 and can go very far against European opposition. But we’ll see that it’s very hard to tell, he says.
