New York. Is Johnny Goudreau ‘coming home’ in Philadelphia? Where does John Klinburg end? How much money does Nazim Qadri get?
Many exciting questions will be answered when the NHL’s so-called free agency opens tonight – and Sportbladet lists here the hottest stars who could switch clubs.
It’s only been a week or so since Gabriel Landeskog put an end to the NHL 21-22 season by raising the Stanley Cup over his head, but now we’re already facing one of the most important events of the 22-23 season.
Tonight, 18.00 Swedish time, the NHL’s so-called free agency takes over.
After that, the 32 clubs will start attracting “unrestricted free agents” players and therefore have no contract – and this year’s “UFA” waste is one of the most titillated players in recent years.
The most important names – as well as all Swedes – are listed below.
A few things to remember first, just:
• The last clubs the players belong to until tonight’s deadline to “resign” the stars they want to keep, so several names may fall off the list as of the next few hours (they’ve already been changed several times in the last 24 hours and had to be completely redone When Pittsburgh was late last night after everyone agreed with Evgeni Malkin…)
• The fact that players, as they are called, test the market does not necessarily mean that they change clubs. They may come to the conclusion that there are no more attractive offers elsewhere, and therefore they crawl to the cross and accept what they were offered from the beginning.
• It is not necessary to complete all deals today, not at all. “Free Agency” is open until next spring’s trade deadline. But big companies are still usually keen to secure new contracts as quickly as possible.
•Johnny GoudreuCalgary Flames
– The Flames really wanted to keep “Johnny Hockey” and did everything he could to stay in Alberta. After all, he’s been the team’s biggest star over the past nine years and has broken a personal record with 115 points this season. For a long time, most people probably also thought that he would stay. But recently, last night, the 28-year-old American announced that he has no intention of returning to Calgary. His career continues elsewhere. where? Local club Philadelphia Flyers is the hottest candidate, but bids are likely to be welcomed.
• John Kleinberg, Dallas Stars
– By far the highest hill in the 2022 class. And here there is no doubt. Burger will change the club. Dallas has no place under the salary cap. So the only question is where does Gothenburger go. Since he has played with a salary well below market value almost throughout his career, he definitely wants to get a good salary and not everyone can give it. Carolina Hurricanes have been identified as a potential destination, as have the Seattle Kraken and New Jersey Devils.
• Nazim Qadri, Colorado Avalanche
Sometimes it changes quickly. As recently as a year ago, this controversial free-cutting cutter was considered a hazard. After the success of this year’s Champion Colorado, Kadri is suddenly very excited and expected to win the regular jackpot for being hired somewhere.
• Ondrej Balat, Tampa Bay Lightning
– Another play that was expected to agree with his old club at the last minute. usually does. But the latest attempt is that the former special “clutch” king at least wants to explore the terrain. Steve Yzerman learned the connection, he’s been the President of Palace before and saw him safely in Detroit.
• Claude Giroud, Florida Panthers
Longtime Captain Flyers seemed to be doing well after the trip to South Florida this spring, but the Panthers have no place for him this fall. Continue following stubborn rumors in Edmonton or Ottawa.
• Darcy Comber, Colorado Avalanche
– We were some who thought Avalanche won the Stanley Cup despite Kuemper, not because. But if you were the target of a tournament, now you are probably expecting a rain of money. All indications are that he will end up in Washington, who just beat Vitek Vanessek and kidnapped Ilya Samsonov.
• Andrei Burakowski, Colorado Avalanche
Skåningen has had a nice stay with the current champions, but there are no chances of a contract extension, so he’s on his way to other heights. You should be able to get a bigger role, and for really good pay, with a less star-studded team. The New Jersey Devils feels like a potential title.
• Evander Kane, Edmonton Oilers
– Had it not been for all the legal and contractual chaos, Kane would likely have already signed for Edmonton again. Now everything is hanging in the air, no one knows what will happen. Don’t expect a solution until sometime in late August.
• Patrice Bergeron, Boston Bruins
Of course he will belong to the top level in this group if anyone else thinks that the only alternative to the best defensive striker in the world is another year with the Bruins.
• Jack Campbell, Toronto Maple Leafs
– When the Maple Leafs made the astonishing decision to sign Ottawa’s Matt Murray, Campbell, a better goalkeeper than Murray, made his turn on Bay Street. Instead, it seems to be the answer to Edmonton’s many years of prayers for a decent meal.
• Callie Järnkrok, Calgary Flames
– I certainly hope the adventure continues with cousin Elias Lindholm and childhood friend Jacob Markstrom in Calgary. But it is not recognized that this is possible. However, in this case, the offers are not lacking, everyone needs everything in everything like Kali, especially since it does not seem to cost much. If they can’t keep Andrew Cobb, for example, then the New York Rangers should be speculators.
• Anton Strelman, Arizona Coyotes
Strålle has expressed his desire to continue playing in the Arizona desert for another season, but he can also imagine other scenarios. Including back to SHL…
• Mathias Janmark, Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights are having a very tough time with salary caps, so Jana will probably have to find a new team. There should be interest in many places, it is useful in many different roles.
• Marcus Johansson, Washington Capitals
Is all the hate between the different clubs over now? Mojo certainly hoped so, he was very happy to be back home again this spring. But there are no guarantees.
• Jonathan Dallen, San Jose Sharks
He didn’t get a new contract offer from San Jose after his rookie season, so neither is the UFA. The question is – is Jonathan signing for another ice hockey club or would he prefer life as a famous star in Sweden?
• Oscar Lindblum, Philadelphia Flyers
– He was bought completely without emotion by the Flyers today and can now sign a new contract with whomever he wants. Sounds like it’s leaning toward homecoming in Prenas, right?
