Björklöven scored an important away victory in the fight for the series victory in the hockey Allsvenskan.
After a 5-3 away win at Al Matna, they are now only three points ahead of Modo.

It was Umeå’s side that started the strongest and put the puck up 1-0 early in the first half through Maxime Fortier. But Almtuna came back and took the lead before the first half, after goals from Ollie Nordberg and Waldemar Johansson.
Just 10 seconds into the second half, Joel Mostonen scored the equalizer and three minutes later Bjorkloven were back in the lead. The goals kept coming and before the third period the score was 4-2 in favor of the away team.
However, Al Mutuna had the energy to create tension in the match. With eight minutes left, Hampus Harlestam put the puck down to 3-4.
However, the Uppsala team never came close, but instead could decide the final score, 3-5 in an open box.
– The first period, I think, is very bad for us. Then I think we hold ourselves up properly and deserve to win in the end,” says Joel Mostonen on C Moore radio.
“One of our best matches this year”
The match was Björklöven’s fourth consecutive win and with this Modo lead the league. Now separating the two teams by just three points, however, Modo has played three fewer games.
For the mutuna, it doesn’t look exhilarating, the loss being the team’s fifth in a row.
– I think we’re playing one of our best games this year. It’s a shame for the second period to waste it a little carelessly. We know how good they are at the power play and so we can’t afford so many unnecessary dismissals, Hampus Harlestam tells C More.
– I don’t think it was the fifth in a row. Actually I didn’t know that, it just felt so good.
Advance to the playoffs
In the otherwise limping schedule, Västervik took three important battle points to stay afloat. In the bottom meeting against Tingsryd, they won 5-3 away from home, but clearly still placed last.
The White Horse also scored an important victory over Kristianstad in the play-off battle. A 4-2 away win meant the White Horse rose to 10th in the table, one point behind Kristianstad.
