Tough day for Karelin and IFK Gothenburg in the Swedish Cup
A scorer who caused a penalty kick and a red card.
Blåvitt’s new acquisition of Adam Carlin’s Gothenburg derby was a rollercoaster that ended in a loss.
IFK Göteborg fell shockingly in their first cup derby against Gais in four years.
Just before the break, things got heated when Gais defender Egzon Binaku, despite the referee taking a free kick to Blåvitt, continued to kick the ball, belying Markovic’s faith.
– The question is whether he hears the signal, otherwise Pinaco is in fact decapitated, says C. Moore expert Marcelo Fernandez.
It was fatal when Blåvitt took the lead on the subsequent free kick through new acquisition Adam Carlin, who reached the high and scored 1-0.
– It’s very cool, it’s always nice to score goals. Especially in a derby in front of Belovit fans, says Carlin.
The players were forced off the field
The second half had barely started before being burned out by a Bengals bunt. First from Gai’s short side, then from the Blåvitt section. The players were forced into the dressing rooms while waiting for the smoke to clear.
The match started after a while, and in the 56th minute Axel Noren equalized when he pushed the ball in contact with a corner kick.
Minutes later, the aforementioned Karelin became a scapegoat when he tore down Mervan Celik. Jace’s penalty kick, and the winger managed it himself.
As if that wasn’t enough there, new signing Blåvitt was sent off when he received his second yellow, after shredding Chisomnazu Chika Chidi.
Half a real nightmare for a centre-back, as Belovit eventually fell 1-2.
With the loss, they finished second in the group, one point behind Norrköping, who Plovet will face next weekend.
