Hot 08 derby awaits Tele2.
Djurgarden comes with a lot of self-confidence but there is nothing to frighten the Hammarby captain.
– It doesn’t really mean anything, says Darijan Boyanic.
Hammarby has not won a match since May 22, and Djurgården won its previous game 5-2. Thus, two teams on different terms are entering into the crowded Tele2 race in the second Derby 08 of the year. But according to Hammarby captain Darijan Pojanic, it doesn’t matter in the Tele2 fight.
I understand that this win means a lot to Djurgaarden but ah, it doesn’t really mean anything when it’s the derby. It’s going to be a fun match to play and watch, that means a lot to everyone and it’s going to be exciting, says Bojanic.
We got the best start you can get after the break. Djurgarden captain Magnus Ericsson says he has felt all week that it’s a derby now, it’s heating up.
Are you going to hit the pitch or the image of the match you believe in?
“I’m sure it will explode in both directions,” says Erickson.
– Djurgården has to do that. I don’t think much about bangs, I think more about playing football. Bojanic says, I want to play ball and let them chase the ball.
“Remove the match from the brain”
The last time the two teams faced each other in September 2021, Hammarby took the lead but collapsed completely after that, Djurgården reversed the negative derby and won 4-1. Bojanic played the whole match and prefers not to be reminded of it.
– That match has been removed from the brain, glad you picked it up. No, but it sucked that we lost.
Magnus Eriksson is happy to remember:
We didn’t like the derby, but of course it was important to win. We let it go 0-1 early and then I think all of Sweden thought ‘Here we go again’. But that match we were tough and we got on with it all, it was a magical day. We will do everything to win again.
“I will sleep on the thing”
Djurgårdens Rasmus Schüller missed the match against Sundsvall but is in the lineup for the match now. In Hammarby’s last training before the derby, Richard McGuire was not present, and Oliver Dauphin trained, but according to Marty Cifuentes, he is not ready to play in the derby. Hammarby also has to dispense with hill Mads Wenger, who picked up his third yellow of the season against Haken.
– I will sleep about who will replace, and we usually make such decisions on match day. I am really looking forward to the match and the atmosphere in the derby. We are looking for points, says Cifuentes.
Bojanic also points out that it is time for Hammarby to start winning again:
It’s annoying that we didn’t get a lot of points, we know we are a very good team and we want more. We can only hope that it happens in the derby instead.
The match between Djurgården-Hammarby starts at 15.00 today
