Borgy Salming, 71, suffered from a mysterious illness.
Now the hockey legend is waiting for an answer from doctors.

About three months ago I noticed Puree Salming That something wasn’t right. The 71-year-old suddenly started getting nervous as he spoke and had to take a break to get his breath back.
Misery refuses to go, and Salming has yet to receive an answer to the cause of the illness.
– This came out of nowhere and no one seems to know why, he says.

In the spring of 2020, Salming developed shortness of breath and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
It turned out that it was due to covid-19.
– So some have guessed that this one I’ve been experiencing now is post-Covid, but I don’t think so. I think it is something else. I’ve had two referrals so I’m going to go and do the scan again and take blood samples and stuff. Then we’ll see.
Do you feel bad?
– Yes, you are a little worried, of course. But I did x-ray the lungs and they were perfectly fine, so that’s another thing.
There’s nothing wrong with Heart, who Salming has struggled with his problems before and is taking medication.
– It feels good, he says.

How are you affected in your daily life now?
– It’s hard when you have to talk. For example, if you have people visiting you and they are going to tell you something, take a break to catch your breath as it gets thicker in the throat. It’s not fun, but I hope it’s not too serious. Salming says I keep my fingers crossed.
