Börje Salming celebrated at Time’s Hockey Celebration – here he was awarded an All Star

Börje Salming is considered one of the best Swedish full-backs of all time.

He made a spot on the All-Star Team at the Tidernas Hockey Gala at the Avicii Arena on Thursday night.

Salming’s brother Stig received the award for the seriously ill hockey hero.

It’s hard to come up with a dream team after a hundred years of Swedish ice hockey – but at the Tidernas hockey gala six champions were honored after 130,000 votes were counted.

On the men’s team all stars Henrik Lundqvist in goal and in front of him is Niklas Lidström and Salming puree.

Salming, who has suffered from neuromuscular disease ALS, is at the concert but does not take the stage. Instead, his brother Stig received the prize and gave it to Puri, who was sitting in a box.

Each team is named All-Star

Offensively, Peter Forsberg, Mats Sundin and Håkan Loob were lauded on the All-Star Team.

– I am not worthy, Håkan Loob joked on stage when the team was introduced.

– You may not have believed it when you were skating around Sliterink at home in Gotland, but this is among the biggest, maybe the biggest, I’ve been a part of.

Peter Forsberg thinks Loob is a worthy winner, despite Loob’s own words about not being “deserved”.

Håkan was my idol when I was actually growing up. I wanted to be a scorer, but I didn’t have the talent, Phoba says.

“if no one dreams”

Forsberg was also proud of the award.

“You wouldn’t have dreamed of it when you grew up in Domshoe and you were five or six years old and you started skiing,” says Forsberg.
