The Bruins missed a ball game against Florida in the NHL playoffs
New York. Linus Ollmark hasn’t made a lot of mistakes this season, but he did in overtime last night – which is why the Boston Bruins’ first ball of the eighth game against Florida went down the drain.
But Lugnvik’s star goalkeeper quickly tries to shake off the disappointment.
– You have to have a goldfish mentality, he says.
The sudden-death drama at Boston’s TD Garden lasted six minutes when the unfortunate fading occurred.
Linus Ullmark came out from behind the box to tackle the puck, but instead of just brushing it away, he happened to pass to Florida cat Carter Verhaeghe. He, in turn, kicked the puck towards the penalty area and hit a skate on Ollmark – who at the same moment turned himself back towards the goal court – and as it were, Matthew Tkachuk was in position and managed to shoot at 4-3 with a backhand kick.
– I tried to catch up, but the puck happened to touch my skates and ended up in the wrong hands, says Linus when he meets the media afterwards.
– If I or the cliffs had done something different? I don’t know, I have to watch the video. But things like that happen, you just have to forget. You must have a goldfish mentality.
Maybe it’s a good thing that whoever has the Series wins, because no one lived up to expectations when they had a chance to hit the game ball in this Series. They were always at a disadvantage and had to chase all night.
– I don’t know why, but we tend to make big mistakes right now. Especially here at home in Boston, says Coach Jim Montgomery.
Now, to their great disappointment, the Bears were forced to return to South Florida for another game on Saturday night.
