Brynäs acts on the threats

Over the weekend, team captain Anton Rudyan and sporting director Johan Allsen were threatened with home visits.

Today, Brynäs chose to cancel all interviews and increase security:

– I do not wish what we had to endure on anyone, says Johan Alsen.

Brynäs has a really tough weekend behind him. Firstly, the team lost the third qualifying match against Malmö in the most brutal way imaginable. With a minute left, Adam Ulas Mattsson hit the decisive goal 4-3, a goal that was approved only after a video review.

Thus the score is 3-0 in Malmö’s matches and Brenas must now win four straight games in order for the SHL to continue to exist.

Following the loss, over Sunday night, both team captain Anton Rudin and sporting director Johan Allsen received home visits from a number of individuals who had acted dangerously.

Alcén and Rödin also have families with young children who were home at the time.

– It was a stormy night, and of course it will be more difficult when my family and children are involved and affected, says Johan Alsen in a statement on the club’s website and continues:

– I do not wish anyone to bear what we had to endure. I think experiencing unpleasant things around one’s home in the middle of the night gives most parents a lump in their stomachs and a sense of panic. Otherwise, I do not want and cannot comment on this further.

He refused all interviews

Brynäs reported the incident to the police and now club director Håkan Svedman says the security situation has shifted in light of what happened this weekend.

– We already have safety procedures in place for employees and their relatives. We are now making more adjustments so everyone can feel safe in the workplace and at home, Svidman writes in a text message.

However, he does not want to elaborate on what modifications are in practice:

– No, we maintain that internally.

Brenas trained yesterday in the morning before Tuesday’s meeting with Malmö, but as far as that goes, the club chose to skip all interviews. Player, coach or sporting director Johan Allsen was not available:

– It was a tough weekend for us. We need to talk about each other today,” press director Karen Johansson wrote in a text message.
