Last night, 23 players packed their bags for a bus trip to Chester, the base of the European Championship.
They did so disappointedly on the inside. Sweden led 1-0 when the Netherlands leveled.
The goal was unnecessary, but what bothered the Swedes the most was that they didn’t manage to score more of their goals. The match wasn’t quite right and last night at Bramall Lane the players criticized themselves.

We have great ambitions and high demands on ourselves. We know what we can improve. Nobody goes into the dressing room and thinks they are happy with the 1-1 draw, which is a very high level considering we meet the Netherlands, says midfielder Caroline Seeger.
We have more levels in our attacking game, says Magdalena Erickson, centre-back.
The players cited a number of different factors that meant they weren’t up to the level the team has in terms of playing.
– I felt that we did not have enough energy, says Hedvig Lindahl.
– It was above all about the pace of the passing game and not messing with the ball too much but letting it do the job. It is important to our first goal. Then we have the speed, and there are a few strikes and it goes by itself. Then we achieve such a feat, says Caroline Seeger.
Fridolina Rulfo was not completely satisfied and last night talked about slow decisions.
– I don’t think we’re starting our game right. We were hoping for more there. We could have worked more with the ups and downs of the game, says Fridolina Rulfo.
According to Caroline Seger, the pace will be set to accelerate in the coming days before the meeting with Switzerland on Wednesday.
– High speed in training and remind each other. The first show was difficult, you should not forget about it.
– We’ll get into the rhythm, we’ll get into the tournament. We meet the Netherlands who are quick to recover, so we need to make quick decisions and the possibility to play on multiple people,” says Caroline Seeger.
