Now, former Kalmar FF star Cesar Santin, 41, is forced to undergo cancer treatment.
– I asked for care because of my ears, says Santin.

This summer, Santin wrote on Instagram that he is about to face the toughest match of his life away from the football field.
“I will start radiotherapy on October 6th,” Santin tells Sportbladet now.
He suffered from paraganglioma.
– There will be four treatment occasions. Then they’ll run a check to see how it went, Santin says.
I have a very slowly growing type of carcinoma that the doctors said needed treatment.
Santin lives in Denmark, where the treatment will take place. Despite the diagnosis, he remains in good condition.
– I feel good. I’m just waiting – and looking forward – to start treatment. He says: We have to wait and see what happens.
How do you feel when you know you have a disease and do not feel it?
– I only have one problem. I asked for care because of my ears, and I stopped hearing on one side. Then they scanned my entire body and found the problem.

This is what Copenhagen Football Club wrote when Santin was diagnosed with cancer in June, and the former footballer feels supported on all sides.
– I have received many beautiful messages from supporters and people around me. Santin says it is my pleasure to hear that people are still like me.
Support comes, among other things, from Sweden.
– I still have friends in Sweden and received messages from Sweden and Brazil, from fans of the teams I played in. They write to me and support me.
– We have to hope for the best.
