Christian Follin with a broken finger

Most of the shots in the SHL are covered by Christian Follin.

Now Frölunda’s back finger has been crushed.

– I’ve been covering shots for many years, but it was the first time I broke something, the 31-year-old tells Göteborgs-Posten.

In the 4-2 home win against Leixand last Thursday, Christian Follen broke his finger.

Now the versatile star has had back surgery and will be out for six weeks to miss twelve more SHL games.

– I got a shot out of the blue on the toe on the second changeover and immediately felt something was wrong. It’s not like when you hit your finger. It was just another 30 seconds of fighting in your neighbourhood, Christian Follen tells the doctor.

He is most looking forward to it

The middle finger of the left hand is crushed, now the finger is placed with various pins and the hand is in a plaster cast.

As a right-handed shooter, he is predominantly right-handed and his left hand is used for support.

What Kristian Follen is now looking forward to is spending quality time with the well-known strength and fitness trainer Bar Edlund.

– It’s great! It’s something we look forward to. I ran into him the summer before I even moved back to Frölunda and he’s a great person to be with. He introduces himself and offers items to the group every day. It’s what makes time feel faster than it is, says Christian Vollen.

He is least looking forward to it

The most difficult thing for him is to force him to watch the upcoming matches from the stands.

I sweat a little in the stands! I want to be involved and be able to make an impact and it will be very difficult there. I have to practice with it, maybe take a step back and focus on how we play. Maybe I can be an extra eye in the stands, says Christian Follen.

Meanwhile, famed defenseman Andreas Borgmann returned with a goal and an assist in a 2-2 home tie against Luleå in the CHL Semifinals on Tuesday night.

Frölunda is third in the table and now has a three-game winning streak due to the WC in Handball in Scandinavia.
