Club icon Vaila Barsley New coach at Eskilstuna

There have been many questions about Eskilstuna United since the Women’s League ended.

Now one has been answered.

Club icon Vaila Barsley, 35, is Eskilstuna’s new head coach.

Vaila Barsley spent nine seasons at Eskilstuna United. But his playing career ended with one season in Brommapojkarna last year.

In 2023, she will return to Eskilstuna. This time he will be the head coach.

– I feel like I’m coming home. It’s great for me to now be given the task of leading United. It’s the club I have in my heart that has led to me now being based in Eskilstuna and set up here with my family, Vaila Barsley tells the Eskilstuna website.

Many players left.

Chaos describes what it’s been like for Eskilstuna since the end of the Women’s League. The club’s financial woes, which saw them post a negative league account on August 31 earlier this year, resulted in the licensing board refusing to award them an elite license for 2023.

The decision would be appealed – but as it stands now, Eskilstuna were forcibly demoted from the Women’s League to the Elite League.

United have had a difficult year financially as our elite license is also being called into question. Several players have left the club during the current uncertainty. Therefore, it is great that we can now introduce Vaila Barsley as our new coach, says Lina Bertilsson, Chairman of the Board.

He led Eskilstuna in the Women’s League

Parsley played for Eskilstuna in the Women’s League during his first season at the club in 2013.

Last year, Eskilstuna was coached by Fredrik Bernhardsson and Elena Sadiko last year when they finished eighth in the Women’s League. It was already clear that Bernhardsson had left the club. In connection with the introduction of Parsley as the new head coach, the club also announced the departure of Sadiku.
