Victor Gewkers is one of the most exciting Swedes in the European leagues at the moment. He scored a total of 18 goals and five assists in Coventry who finished 12th in the tournament. 23-year-old Geocris talks about a successful year.
It’s been a very interesting season and my first full season in England you must say. I’ve played regularly in Coventry and it has gone well for me. The tournament is a tough league to play in, and given the requirements of our club, we have exceeded expectations, he says.
What is the difficulty in the tournament?
– No, but that’s exactly what many matches have and that you always have to be the talk of the game at the top. It is also a physical league with many strong and fast players, which requires a lot from you as a player.
What makes you happy the most from last season?
– It’s that I scored quite a few goals anyway. I had to play all the time and I’ve improved through the season. I feel like I made strides and developed my best qualities, shooting the goal and also my strength on the field and my game in depth.
“Proof that I did well”
The 23-year-old made his national team debut during the January tour of Qatar 2019, where he scored a goal in two matches and was praised by the captain. Jan Anderson. – It is always an honor to represent their country and coming with them will be further proof that I did something good.
There are a lot of rumors about this move for you, among others Premier League and Fulham. How do you look at it?
I know there’s a lot of interest and it’s fun and proof that I’ve done well. But that’s not something I focus on.

I feel very good here in Coventry and I am coming off a good season. But of course you want to play as high as possible in the best tournaments.

Do you have dreams you would like to play in?
I feel at home here in England and the Premier League is probably the best you want to play in. I would probably have been fit there given my style of play and that I played in the tournament. The Premier League is the league that attracts. I think I have adapted well to England, the culture and everything related to football here.
You took the step to England and Brighton when you were very young, how was the change?
It’s a little different when you go abroad. To another country, another culture. Then it’s all about football here in England, it’s a huge interest and a lot has been written. It’s fun to have a lot of attention.
What will happen to you next?
– Now it’s going to be a holiday. It’s going to be great after so many games we’ve played. Then it is believed that the season will start a little earlier this year. But at the moment it will be a much needed vacation.
