Daryl Katz, owner of Edmonton Oilers, is accused of buying sex from an underage ballerina for a huge sum of money.
The allegations are “false” and “pathetic,” according to his attorney, Robert Kliger.
– It’s an attempt to distract, the attorney tells The Athletic.
Edmonton Oilers Owner Daryl Katz has been embroiled in a big box office where several ballerinas have accused the dance teacher and his wife of buying sexual favours, according to several US media reports.
In the lawsuit, which is being held in Nevada County Court, the accused couple filed documents showing how text messages were sent between Daryl Katz and the plaintiff’s ballerina, Sage Humphries.

The messages have now led to the Oilers owner being accused of buying sex from the ballerina who was a minor (17) at the time.
“You are a perfect sage. That’s what scares me.”He says, among other things, in a letter that Daryl Katz is said to have written.
In the letters, there are also indications that Katz transferred a large amount of money to the Humphreys Bank account – a total of $75,000 (768,000 kroner).
The conversations also show how Daryl Katz and Sage Humphreys are trying to find time to meet in New York.

Katz claims, through his attorney, Robert Kliger, that the accusations against him are something the sex-charged dance teacher and his wife invented to distract themselves.
“Their false accusations against him are a blatant and pathetic attempt to divert attention from the heinous acts of which they are accused,” the lawyer told the Athletic newspaper.
The NHL announced Thursday that the league was notified of the issue this week.
