Garbinlov: “Of course the boys feel the pressure”
Fifth consecutive loss for Djurgården.
The team took the lead in the third period but eventually fell on penalties against Karlskoga.
– We need a win to give us some confidence, says coach Johann Garbenlov at C. Moore.
Djurgården, who played in the SHL last year and was ranked first in Hockey Allsvenskan this season, had a difficult period. Prior to the match against Karlskoga, the Stockholm side had lost four matches in a row.
And there was the fifth.
Karlskoga won after Jesper Kokonen sealed the penalty shootout with a stunning equaliser.
Nice match and place. It’s really fun to win too, says Jesper Kokkonen at C More.
Dirty Djurgården
Karlskoga also started the match better.
‘Sloppy’ reviewed the defensive play of C More expert Mikael ‘Daggen’ Eriksson Djurgården ten minutes into the first half.
Negligence will continue and punish itself. Six minutes into the second half, Djurgården were down 2-0 after two falls from the puck.
– Garbinlove explains that players think a little less about what they have to do.
Djurgården played himself
But after a 2-0 run, Djurgården reduced the score to 2-1 in a solid game through Noah Östlund, who represented Sweden at the JVM.
When there were 20 seconds left in the second half, Djurgårdine scored a psychologically important goal to level the score at 2-2 through Wiktor Nilsson after good preparatory work by Liam Ogren.
– Noah Ostlund said before the third period: We believe in our game and go for the third goal.
Ostlund scored Djurgarden’s third and second goal in the match.
But Karlskoga scored 3-3 and forced the match into penalties, from which the team also emerged victorious.
Djurgården has yet to win in 2023.
– The boys clearly feel the pressure, says Garbinloff.
