Hedvig Lindahl is back in the Women’s League.
The goalkeeper got off to a rough start when Djurgarden lost 2-1 to Linköping.
Of course it’s not fun to lose, but I look at it soberly, says Lindahl.
He returned to Sweden again after nearly eight years abroad. But Hedwig Lindals Djurgaarden’s debut was not what the national team star had hoped for.
It took until the 19th minute before the score was broken without goals. Linkoping played forward on the left wing and Cornelia Kapox passed the ball between the legs of a teams player. Amalie Jorgensen Vangsgaard received the ball in the penalty area and cut the ball straight away – the score was 1-0 for the away team in fact.
– What a target thief. Viaplay expert, Pär Lagerström, says it was well made in one stroke.
Just before halftime, it was 2-0, too.
Linköping’s shot was controlled from a distance by two players on the home team and the ball took an unfortunate direction for Djurgården. The ball sailed high above Lindahl and on the far side of the goal.
– It’s a sheer lucky target that gets a weird turn. She felt lucky. I can’t see where the tape is, I tried but couldn’t save the ball, Lindahl tells Sportbladet.
Lindwall lowered
In the second half, Djurgården returned to the match. Tilda Lindwall had a nice shot when I hit the crossbar in the 51st minute. A few minutes later, I had another chance – after which the shot was perfectly placed at the nearest cross.
However, Linköping held out and managed to win the match 2-1 in the end. The team remains third in the table, while Djurgarden is ninth in the women’s league.
Lindahl sums up his first match in Stockholm club.
– It was still good. Of course, it’s not fun to lose, but I look at this quite soberly. The result was very good, especially in the second half. She says I admire many girls.
Nella Fischer was satisfied that Linköping was able to achieve victory.
Three points Three points. I think we start the game very well. Then it’s the second half. We could and should have shut down the match initially, Fisher says.
