Djurgården stops MODO fans from Olsvenskan hockey final

Modu did not issue seat tickets for Djurgården.

Then Djurgården returned the same coin to Hovet:

– The situation would not have arisen if it had not been sold here (in Ofek), says Djurgården CEO Thomas Kraft.

There is an agreement between Allsvenskan clubs to issue an equal number of tickets to the fans of the visiting team. The minimum number of tickets clubs must give each other is 150 standing room tickets.

This was also what Djurgården got from Modo over the first two final matches.

All seat tickets were sold by Modo themselves without any tickets being offered to Djurgården.

– There is an agreement that they offer each other the same number of places. Unfortunately we were ready for the final shortly after Modo, by then they were all sold out here at home and they couldn’t get us many seats. Then we decided on equality for the sake of equality, says Thomas Kraft, CEO of Djurgården.

During the semi-final against Björkloven, an entire section in Hovet was dedicated to Björkloven fans. That will not be the case for the two final matches, which will be decided in Hovet on Friday and Sunday.

Modo fans only get 150 tickets, the same number Djurgården got at Hägglunds Arena, according to Kraft.

Games 3 and 4 in the final are played at Hovet in Stockholm.

Sometimes things go wrong

Is Modo in on this?

– Eh, yeah, we agree it would be like that when they sold out so early and didn’t keep tickets for us. There is no fixed number of seats you must offer the opponent, but it is more a matter of principle.

Can it be called revenge on you?

– No, not at all.

But there are many mods in the capital who would like to see their team.

– Yes, of course. And again: the situation would not have arisen if it had not been sold here (at Ofek), says Thomas Kraft.

He adds:

– Before possible matches 5 and 6 we should talk to each other and not try to sell the arena before we have an agreement between the clubs.

Modo CEO Johan Fedebro thinks the situation is unfortunate:

– It was a misunderstanding from the beginning, many people got involved and sometimes mistakes and misunderstandings happen. Djurgården’s ticket manager was here today and we talked to each other.
