Djurgården’s Rasmus Schüller aims to play in Allsvenskan’s reboot

Rasmus Schuler was injured during the national team break.

But the key midfielder at Djurgarden is aiming to play on Saturday.

– The starting point is I’ll be there against Degerforce, Schuller tells Sportbladet.

Unlike Sweden, Finland managed to stay in the Nations League Second Division. 1–1 against Romania and 2–0 against Montenegro means that the Finnish national team finishes the group with a passing score.

We succeeded in our minimal goal, to remain in Class B. Before the September meeting, there was a theoretical chance that we would win the group, but it wasn’t realistic. We are satisfied with the result at the end,” says midfielder Rasmus Schuller.

In other words, there are slightly happier faces in Finland than in Sweden?

– yes. We weren’t very happy to play in the Nations League, but we still got enough points. Based on that, it’s definitely more delightful in Finland.

He suffered a foot injury

Schuler played 87 minutes against Romania before being substituted due to a foot injury. The 31-year-old from Djurgården does not want to go into any details about the injury, but believes things are heading in the right direction.

I trained partly with the team and partly trained individually this week, says Schuller, who continues:

– this is good. I take it day in and day out. The starting point is I’ll be there against the Degerfors.

Do you aim to play?

– Yes, of course.

Last year, Djurgården lost 2-0 when they faced Degerfors away from home. At that time, the current Stockholm striker Viktor Edvardsen was definitely playing in the opposing team – and decided the match with two goals.

– We took our revenge on Stora vala. That’s the position we had before the game, says Schuller, who is looking forward to the Allsvenskan fall.

‘It’s going to be a wonderful autumn’

– It would be so much fun. We will only play the great games that are very important. It will be a wonderful autumn.

How is it feeling at Djurgården before the last matches?

– it is good. We have confidence and haven’t lost in a long time. We have a good feeling in the group.

The match between Degerfors and Djurgarden takes place on Saturday, with kick-off at 17:30.
