Djurgorden beat Sepsi with two more goals through Joel Asoro

Two away goals, two at home.

Joel Asuro pushed Djurgarden out of the double encounter with Sepsi and now the European Conference League play-off awaits.

There, Djurgården will face Cypriot Apoel FC.

With a 3-1 exit from the first leg, expectations were in the air at Tele 2 Arena when Djurgården hosted Sipsi of Romania for the second leg.

The event also started at a fast pace – on the field and in the stands.

early deprivation

Victor Edvarsen received a yellow card in the first match of the match and in the eighth minute, Sepsi was ahead when Jacob Wedel Zetterstrom misjudged a Cosmin Mattei cross free kick.

However, the home team immediately turned around. In the eleventh minute, Peter Johansson found Humpos Wendel in the middle of the penalty area and ten minutes later the goal came when Joel Asoro Slotted in a corner by Magnus Eriksson.

Then Djurgården drove at the break.

– I think we got off to a difficult start in the first 10 minutes, and then we achieve that goal. The whole match changed when we scored 1-1, Joel Asoro points out during the break.

Four goals for Asoro

After a strong start, the second half was more competitive but Joel Asoro didn’t finish. With a solo performance, he had the house audience join in singing “Joel Asoro – Do What He Wants”.

Asuro broke through the attacking penalty area 20 minutes before the end of the match and hit 3-1 with his left foot. This was his fourth goal in a double encounter with Sepsi.

Isak Hien tries to put into words how much his teammate Joel Asoro means to the team after the match.

– Incredibly much. We’ve all seen in training for a long time how good he is, and what his level is in his seat. Hen says it’s fun to be out on the field, too.

Djurgarden won the match 3-1 and the duo 6-2 on aggregate.

In a Europa League playoff match, Cypriot side APOEL is now waiting for Djurgården. The double meeting begins in Cyprus next week.
