Dusan Umisevic on SVT receives criticism from David Bernhardt: ‘Nonsense’

ÖRNSKÖLDSVIK. Modo defender David Bernhard responded forcefully to SVT analyst Dusan Omicevic’s advice ahead of the final.

Umisevich believes that Bernhardt is primarily an animal farmer, so Modo loses.

– It’s nonsense. I don’t know why he writes this way, says Modo.

Modo tightened his small grip on the final in Hockeyallsvenskan.

A low-scoring saga ended in victory for Modu in the fourth game when Sebastian Olsson put the puck behind goalkeeper Djurgarden Meirenberg.

One of Modo’s heroes was defenseman David Bernhardt, who got a full 29 minutes of ice time per encounter and was the one who led Modo’s defence.

– I didn’t have time to get nervous and mostly tried to enjoy the situation – it’s not often that you play a final like that. The audience has seen many hockey spells and this makes me happy, he says.

29 minutes is a long, icy stretch of time and he admits the body wasn’t on high gear at the final whistle.

“I have to thank Modou for so much.”

– A little tired in the legs, but it will end tomorrow. We had some damage on a hill and then others have to jump in and think we did really well today.

David Bernhardt grew up in Alfsho in the south of Stockholm and started his career at Huddinge Tigers. When he was 16 years old, he was recruited to Djurgården where he spent seven seasons.

The fact that Bernhardt had represented Djurgården for many years came into focus when Dusan Omisevic, an analyst at SVT, pointed out how the final would play out on hockeyallsvenskan.se.

“Modo’s best players are also Djur Gardarz at heart. David Bernhardt. Who also has a guaranteed contract in the SHL next season no matter how things go.”

– He wrote that Djurgården would beat us easily and that I was a zookeeper. It’s just nonsense. I don’t know why he writes like that. I give everything to Modo and I will win with Modo. Yes, I played for Djurgården for a few seasons and I take an interest in Djurgården and go to matches with my junior mates. But now I belong to Modo and fight for them. “I want to thank Modo so much,” says Bernhardt.
