Elias Peterson decided to celebrate crazy goals for the Vancouver team

New York. Another NHL Wild West show took place early this morning – and it ended with a Blue and Yellow victory.

Thirteen seconds into overtime between Vancouver and Montreal, Elias Peterson scored the decisive goal, making it 7-6.

– It was a match with everything, says the champion.

Crazy things continue to happen in the NHL this fall. Last week Seattle beat Los Angeles 9-8, yesterday Dallas came back to a 1-5 loss in the third period at home to Minnesota – and last night it was a circus in Vancouver.

First, Montreal jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period, and back in the day, games like that used to be decided, but not anymore.

In the third set, the Canucks caught up and came back to 5-4 – only to be beaten again by the visitors. A minute into the power play with a minute and a half left, Andrei Kuzmenko equalized and 13 seconds into overtime, Elias Peterson decided with a small individual display.

He deflected the ball off Mike Matheson, rose in front of the goal and lashed in for his 12th goal of the season.

– I was afraid that I would be kicked out, but in fact I did not touch his skates. Then I saw I had a way to the chest and tried to get a disc between his legs, Elias says afterwards.

It was a match that had everything. What did we say when we realized? Just “work hard” and “drop the pucks behind them”… too many clichés.

Coach Bruce Boudreau calls the event “crazy.”

– I’ll come home and say “What happened?” I don’t think I’ve ever been in a similar match. We’ll remember it for a while, but a win is a win.

Match hero Peterson was also responsible for two assists and Nils Hooglander one.
