Elias Pettersson leads the NHL’s scoring charts

New York. We have a Swede at the top of the NHL’s scoring charts.

Elias Pettersson scored when Vancouver lost last night to Dallas this year – and thus sailed alongside Jack Hughes.

– Things are going our way now, but we have to make sure we don’t get too high, says coach Rick Tocchet after the 2-0 win.

If anyone wondered if the Vancouver Canucks are truly as good as the results of their successful start to the series suggest, tonight’s effort at Rogers Arena should remove the last doubts.

They came off their strongest performance of the season, winning a very close and even game against struggling Dallas 2-0.

– Two teams met with a tailwind and it was noticeable. It was an organized and well-done game and Thatcher Demko responded with a great performance inside the box, says coach Rick Touchette.

Only Vegas is ahead of us

No one wants to doubt anymore that Elias Pettersson’s superstar status is real.

With just over four minutes remaining in the second period, he received the puck, somewhat unguarded, in the left paint circle and scored his sixth goal of the season.

Thus, with a total of 20 points, he is tied for first place in the NHL scoring charts.

The Canucks as a team sit in second place in the Western Conference – behind only the impressive Vegas Golden Knights.

– Things are going our way now, but we have to make sure not to get too high when things are going well and not too low when there is a downturn. Touchet points out that poise is extremely important during a long season.
