Elvira Öberg nervous before the figure skating competition

Eastern Sunday. A figure skating competition is meaningless without shooting at the home track in Östersund.

Nothing to get the pulse of biathlon, eh?

– I haven’t been so nervous before the start since the Olympics. Elvira Oberg says my heart rate was 130-140 when I was standing.

Biathletes gather in Östersund for the Supreme Committee’s medals in figure skating this weekend. During Friday, the national team ran in a relay, the women ran 7.5 km without shooting and the men ran 10 km. Elvira Öberg immediately showed that her body responded well to summer training and won 8 seconds ago Lynn Pearson.

– I am convinced that I stick to the plan and try to ride reasonably evenly on all laps. It was good to start with a win, Oberg says, it was hard to wait in the goal line because I know Lin was strong in training.

How did you feel before the race?

– I was really nervous, I crept up during the day and in the warm-up I got really nervous, so I had to try to calm down a bit, says the 23-year-old, explaining the tension:

– The body knows it’s getting serious now, we’ve had a little practice race, but it’s different. I stood at the starting line and my heart rate was between 130 and 140 when I stood still. The last time I felt that nervous was before the Olympics, says Oberg, laughing.

On the men’s side, Martin Ponciloma beat Sebastian Samuelson.

– Before the start I was nervous too, the atmosphere was tense. But it is very good for the body to respond well, I had to suffer a little at the end of the training period, so it was a really good delivery.
