Sheffield. New summer, new championship, new golden opportunity.
Caroline Seeger has shaken off her previous defeats and is looking forward to the European Championship final.
– We have a very strong faith, but with this we must go out and meet and not talk much, says the captain.

Sometimes you have to come here again. But that’s not something I thought of from a bigger perspective, says the 37-year-old and adds with a smile:
I was young and naive, but still dark in my eyes.
“The Hardest Tournament”
During the press conference before the European Championship premiere against the Netherlands, the media’s focus was largely on the win. Not least because it is still chasing gold.
This year, many in the Swedish national team are open to enter the tournament as one of the top candidates.
– Seeger says it’s a feeling we’ve built and given the results we’ve had in recent years, it has us in the position.
But we also have tremendous humility for what’s to come and we know it will be the toughest tournament we had in mind for the teams involved. We have a very strong faith, but even so, we should go out and investigate and not talk too much.
“The sun will rise tomorrow, too.”
The loss in the Olympic final in Tokyo last summer was painful for all of Sweden but above all for Seeger, who missed a penalty shootout.
How can you use it as fuel instead of putting it mentally?
– Yes, how do you act.. It’s not more difficult than tomorrow’s sunrise, too. It was close before, maybe not so close. But you had to get up and recharge and be there in the form of a new tournament and new things would happen. New games.
– For my part, I will go out and do what I can because I know everyone will. This is because we have the same goal. It never changes. It’s something we live with and it’s what we aspire to as a team and as individuals. It’s no stranger than that. I’m always excited to win, that’s what it’s all about.
“Don’t cheat on anything”
Saturday night, a fresh hunt for the first gold since 1984. It begins for Caroline Seeger, and means a new chance to reach the big goal once and for all.
The winner for me is the one who gets out and gives himself a chance to get out. Someone who constantly shows himself from his best side and tries to do everything in his power for his teammates and for Sweden. In a fair way, says the captain.
– You can win in many different ways, but for me it is very important that you win the flag at the top and that you don’t cheat on anything. He is a winner.
