On Monday morning, Joachim Wagerfall went upstairs to Hovet to train his team. Half an hour after he finished, he no longer had the job left.
He was completely unaware and told his fellow cultivators when he got the news.
– He was disappointed, of course, and it came like a bolt from the sky. We were totally unprepared and there and then I became a bit speechless, Markus Ragnarsson tells Sportbladet.
So, did you manage to say hello?
– Yes, he took the most important things with him, picked some things, and then we said goodbye.
But what he didn’t have time to do was say goodbye to the group of players. They have already left the court.
– The players are gone, 30-40 minutes after our training, so everyone scattered, says Ragnarsson.
Do you think it was rude to let him train and then get fired?
– Well… those are quick decisions… nah… I don’t have an opinion on that. This is how it actually works.
How did you react yourself?
– If you work in this industry, you know it can happen at any time. this is life.
Stoppel: “It’s a pity”
The person who finally got the message and fired Fagervall was sporting director KG Stoppel. He sees no problem with firing Fagervall right after training.
It’s all about timing and getting things done. The final details were finalized on Monday, Stubel says.
Do you think it is handled well?
– It’s never a good time to do that. We felt we needed to do something and it was done. Then we had to do it as quickly as possible because we had today’s game.
How do you see that he does not have time to say goodbye to the players?

Could you handle it differently?
– No, not based on how events unfolded. It’s sad, but we felt like we needed to do this every now and then. Since he wasn’t ready with a replacement before, we couldn’t do it then.
Was there anything to suggest things were going to go wrong with Garpenlöv?
– No, but you shouldn’t take things for granted. We have to be selfish there.
