Falk / Carlson to the final in EC table tennis – won the semi-finals of Sweden

Sweden semi-finals in table tennis EC.

The defending champion duo Falk/Carlson then drew the longest straw and hit Pearson/Kahlberg 3-1 in sets.

Now they can take revenge on the Austrians Habesohn/Gardson, to whom they have lost two EC finals before.

It was already clear that a Swedish team would reach the final in the men’s doubles in EC table tennis. Title holder Matthias Falk and Christian Carlson Instigated against John Pearson and Anton Kallberg.

The latter was the one who started the strongest and got the first set, but then Falk/Carlson evolved into the match. Although behind in both the third and fourth sets, they were able to win three times in a row and return by winning 3-1 in sets (10-12, 11-8, 11-8, 11-9)

– I think we’re raising our bar. We’re doing very well in both third and fourth and we’re getting more aggressive in what we’re doing, Falk tells SVT.

He wants revenge in the final

Now awaits the Austrian duo of Daniel Habisson and Robert Gardus, the team the Swedes lost to in the EC final in both 2012 and 2018.

– The third time lucky. He’s a very good husband and wife and will be very interesting. “We’ve had our eyes fixed on gold all along, and now we’re going to make sure we fix it,” Carlson says.

Kallberg/Pearson is still happy with a bronze medal after a great tournament.

– It’s my first medal in a tournament, so I’ll always remember that, says Anton Kahlberg.

The final will take place tonight at 18.10 and will be broadcast on SVT.
