Färjestad finished the CHL regular season with a victory.
The score was 4-2 against Red Bull Munich.
This guarantees a good seeding in the playoffs.
With this victory, the team raised its score to 14 points in the six matches it played in the regular season.
At the time of writing, they are third in the table, but Adler Mannheim and Elvis – who play tomorrow – have a chance of moving up the table.
But no matter how things go, Farestad will have a bottom-half team when the playoffs begin in mid-November.
A seesaw match
Tuesday’s match against Red Bull Munich was a rollercoaster.
Färjestad got off to a great start and took a 2-0 lead after goals from Lucas Forsell and Linus Johansson.
Then the Germans came back to make it 2-2.
But quick goals from Joachim Nygard and Magnus Nygren respectively midway through the third period ensured victory.
Build the icon on the team
It is otherwise notable that 17-year-old Jack Berglund – son of club icon Christian Berglund – pulled on a first-team shirt for the first time.
He was included as an additional striker, but did not get playing time and thus has to wait for his first-team debut.
Vaxjo one
Växjö beat Swiss Rapperswil 3–2 after extra time and thus secured first place in the regular season.
Dylan McLaughlin was involved in all three goals.
Success in the regular season means that Växjö is guaranteed to play at home in a potential final.
Skellefteå beat Austrian TWK Innsbruck in the last match and finished sixth in the regular season.
