Färjestad recruits goalkeeper Carl Lindbom from Djurgården

Färjestad now has a full squad for the upcoming SHL season.

Goalkeeper Karl Lindbom, 20, leaves Djurgården for Färjestad.

– She is one of the greatest goalkeeper talents Swedish hockey has produced, says sporting director Rikard Wallen.

On Thursday, Carl Lindbom signed a three-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Next season he will be loaned out to play in Färjestad in the SHL.

The new pair of goaltenders for Karlstadsklopen will be 20-year-old Karl Lindbom from Djurgården and 27-year-old Jonas Johansson from the Colorado Avalanche.

“In addition to being a skilled goalkeeper, Karl Lindbom is a determined and sharp man who we hope and believe will fit into the culture we want at the club,” says Ricard Wallen.

Last winter’s breakthrough

Carl Lindbom had great success in Djurgården in Hockeyallsvenskan until he was injured in the first semi-final match against Björklöven.

He won the goalkeeping league with a percentage of 92.98% and kept seven clean sheets in 36 matches.

Now he joins Liam Öhgren from Djurgården to Färjestad.

The 19-year-old tough forward, in turn, is on loan from the Minnesota Wild.

A total of eight new acquisitions

Karl Lindbom and Jonas Johansson replace Matt Tomkins and Dennis Hildeby.

With eight fullbacks and 14 forwards, Färjestad now has a full squad for the season.
