When the financials were summed up after the SHL season, Färjestad BK as a group had 10 times more profit: 20 million SEK.
FBK Chairman Lars Appelqvist highlights three factors that contribute to the massive bonus result.
Playoff games sold out
– In part, we offer three full-match finals against Lulea from last year. Then we didn’t buy any players at the end of last season, which of course kept costs down. Thirdly, we got a lot of help from our four quarter-final matches against Frölunda as we sold out all those matches, Appelqvist told VF.
He attributes much of the atmosphere in the hall to the standing room crowd and also says that the short side could get a fresh look.
About standing cows
Many fans were unhappy when the club chose to lower the height of the stands a few years ago, but the club is now looking at increasing the height space, which means removing part of the ‘dressing room’ in such cases.
– We have a working group consisting of Stefan Larsson and representatives of the pavilion, and they have put together a proposal that we will evaluate – and then we will see what is the best solution. The dialogue is very good, says Abelqvist, and it seems like we can find something for everyone to be happy with.
Färjestad’s capital is now 150 million, VF writes.
