FC Rosengård consolidates top spot in Damallsvenskan.
They can thank substitute Stephanie Sanders who scored one of the goals in the 3-0 win.
I’m starting to get these demons in my head, says Olivia Shoof
Eskilstuna United came to the top against FC Rosengård With four consecutive victories.
But against the league leader, he stopped when Rosengard won 2-0 at Tonavalen.
After a quiet first half, it was substitute Stephanie Sanders who broke the deadlock after just three minutes on the field after a shot from Olivia Shaw.
“I started putting these demons in my head and I thought no, no, no now it might be a boring 0-0 game, so it’s very good when the ball comes in and Sanders shows what a good scorer she is,” she says.
I was in the right place, it’s always good to score goals, says Sanders.
A quarter of an hour later, midfielder Emma Berglund increased when she nodded 2-0 at a corner kick.
A special goal by the captain
Before the match ended, it was also 3-0 when Eskilstuna captain Matilda Blanc nodded the ball into her team’s goal. The win means Rosengård now consolidates top spot in the league.
“It’s an unfortunate gesture, I just want to point it in the corner,” says Blanc, who is disappointed with the loss.
– I’m disappointed with the result, I don’t think it deserves 3-0. We’re making a great first half and locking in the defense really well. But we are tired in the second half.
– We invite them to the match in the second half, which is very sad, and I am disappointed with the second half. Sadiko tells us: We have to learn from our ability to manage the game.
Rosengård coach Renee Sligers was much happier.
– It’s good to score in a steady position and it’s nice to keep a clean sheet, she says.
– You have time to believe it will be a match like this where it will be closed, but I am very happy that we have reduced the five-point line of defense, she continues.
