It rained heavily in Canada during the day and the weather conditions caused problems for drivers during qualifying. Among other things, Red Bull Sergio Perez failed and went out during the second part of qualifying, Q2 and Lando Norris, McLaren, had engine problems.
During the final part of the qualifiers, the World Cup leader Max Verstappen class and took first place.
“I don’t expect the race to be easy tomorrow,” Verstappen said after qualifying.
– I think today we made the right decision at the right time in the third quarter and I am very happy that I took the first place.

His successor surprised 40-year-old Spaniard Fernando Alonso, who won the 2005 and 2006 World Cups, had a really good weekend and was very happy to be again in the first starting line-up.
“It feels great, we had a great weekend and we can usually compete on Friday, then lose on Saturday, but the wet surface suits me perfectly,” he says.
– The car felt very good, I enjoyed it and I can trust it.
He’s now in first grade, a stepping stone he hasn’t had in many years.

Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton share the second starting line-up, HA drivers Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher are third. Charles Leclerc, Ferrari, has a new engine and starts the Canada GP from the last stage.
