Finnish defender Petteri Lindbaum is ready to face Frolunda

Frölunda recently managed to find a replacement for Otto Liskenen.

The Finn’s former summer back signing disappeared right in the Montreal Canadiens.

Instead, 28-year-old Petteri Lindbaum, who won Olympic gold for Finland in Beijing in February, is signed for next season.

Last season, Petteri Lindbohm started at Jokerit in the KHL and finished it for the Florida Panthers in the NHL.

The seasoned and deserving defender played a total of 49 games in the NHL when he also belonged to St. Louis Blues.

In addition to last winter’s Olympic gold medal, he co-winned the 2019 WC gold in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Now the career of Frölunda continues, which for some time has been in search of the best defender.

– We’ve been chasing a hill and now we’ve found Petteri indbohm. Sporting director Fredrik Sjostrom says a good two-way comeback with plenty of experience will strengthen our back side.

Petri Lindbaum will play the No. 40 shirt and join Frolunda next week.

– I’ve heard a lot of positive things about Frölunda, one of the best clubs in Europe. I’ve wanted to play in Sweden for a long time and when I had the chance I didn’t hesitate. Frölunda is a good place to be and an opportunity for me to develop, says Petteri Lindbohm.

Compared to last season, defenders Simon Edvinson (Detroit Red Wings), Stefan Elliott (club unclear), Jens Olsson (Kosic) and Victor Ekbom (retired) are all but gone.

Meanwhile, Andreas Burgmann has undergone shoulder surgery and will miss the first half of the season.
