1. Can Malmö play two games in a row?
There are many concerns about this year Malmo FF. The more pressing issue in the short term is that the team wasn’t primarily responsible for two really strong efforts in a row. Masked performances were always followed by severe gut pain.
Epidemics from injury, Milojevic’s attempt to be overly flexible tactically before the team has had time to become tactically safe and suddenly a soulless team are some of the reasons.
Allsvenskan’s typical summer schedule was supposed to lead to a string of winning streaks, but the unexplained losses to Sirius and Gif Sundsvall have put the spotlight on the unreliable MFF team thus far in 2022.
2. Motion pictures come off naturally
And so there were several things that indicated Malmutey’s reaction. When Malmö is now so binary that a good thing is (almost) always followed by a bad thing, then a bad thing must also be followed by a good. Partly heavenly blues came from a trip to Luxembourg where the players showed a somewhat melancholy attitude, partly Jumbo Allsvenskan came to visit.
The Sundsvall newspaper bolstered the city team by informing the public before the match that Guevara’s 2022 match saw the worst defensive match of all teams in all of the major European leagues. Gif Sundsvall is just on paper the Allsvenskan football team. I’ve previously raved about Giffarna “must be forced out to Section 1” but that’s not far from the truth. In terms of play, they belong at best to the middle of the Premier League and would naturally fall out of the streak. Medelpad’s participation in this year’s Allsvenskan never felt credible or serious, but mostly something fans have to struggle with.
3. Zidane is already the most important player in Malmö – an amazing achievement
For a long time they were superior without having to be particularly good.
This is how you would describe Malmo FF’s first 45 minutes vs. Jeff Sundsvall. The away team stood 5-3-2 down and was hoping for the best. In theory, they would play “tight” and reduce the surfaces between parts of the team, just like Mjällby, but Giffarna is too bad individually (player versus player) and organizationally (they have no idea how to cover each other) to solve this task.
The three midfielders of Guevara – Makrlos, Sylvoir and Pichka – could not cope with the player who became the best player in Malmö in record time. Mustafa Zidane has been thrown into a strict hierarchy and a squad full of Allsvenskan stars, but at the moment he is clearly more important than Anders Christianen, Veljko Birmancevic, Ola Toivonen, Jo Inge Berget, Isaac Kiese Thelin, Lasse Nielsen and Johan Dahlin , and Sergio Pena or anyone else. I usually worry about more praise for players already ripped off, but you can’t turn a blind eye to Zidane’s superiority.
It’s a great achievement to earn the respect of your teammates so quickly. Don’t go into the big club and kind of apologise. Zidane had the courage to believe in his abilities. To dare and want to be the one leading the attack in the strongest team in Sweden without any major personal advantages.
4. Eric Larson – The Perfect Professional
The 24-year-old lay in wait behind Paya Pichkah at the same time that none of Guevara’s three defensive players dared step up the field. From there, Zidane was able to find the most disappointing player in the Allsvenskan. Permanshevich is still like a child endowed with supernatural powers, but he does not yet know how to control or harness his abilities. Unfortunately, one begins to wonder: will he ever mature as a player? Now, however, he bombed 1-0 by a clean class finish.
Zidane then provided one of his patented convincing passes when Isaac Kesey Telin ran deep and fired into the net to make it 2-0.
However, I was happiest in the preliminary match with a 3-0 score. It is rumored that Eric Larsson will be leaving for Greece and this could be the last home game for Malmö FF. Larson has been a perfect pro for the MFF and since joining the club has consistently shown great energy, understated and flexibility. The tail-footed in front of Kiese Thelins 3-0 and the sweeping long shot across the bar after the break are testament to Larsson’s often underestimated style. I have always been weak because of his low professionalism and ability to subjugate himself to the group.
5. Malmo should have won 6-0…at least

But it’s not uncommon for teams to lose their edge when it looks like they’re going to last very simple. Current champions can dance in the Giffs penalty area as they want. It became a circus football when the MFF practically intimidated a lower-villain opponent into submission. The away team’s stay away was a combination of a lack of focus and over-ambition from the MFF, not that Sundsvall offered a reliable defensive match.
Erdal Rakib also allowed Giffarna to limit a typical Indian and push Saku Ylätupa well at 1-3. By the way, the Finn has been pretty fit every time I’ve seen Sundsvall play this season, so it’s very difficult to understand why he’s been on the bench.
Now Giffarna is not a reliable measure of value, but the dominant Malmö FF could still be argued for a solid effort. Sivasspor awaits Thursday in the European League qualifiers. Can they, perhaps for the first time this year, follow up a sharp performance with another good match? It’s time for that.
They should hope that Zidane, who has been replaced by the feeling in the groin, is ready to play. Otherwise, it’s time for captain Anders Kristiansen to get back to normal.
