Frölunda takes the step to the SDHL already in its first season.
The lead was secured ‘in a suit’ when AIK beat Skellefteå on Wednesday night.
– It’s really unimaginable, says sporting director Kim Martin-Hsun.
Frölunda started its women’s team last fall and the team won all of its matches in the Women’s Southern League.
Qualification for SDHL has never been more challenging.
After Frölunda’s wins against AIK and Skellefteå AIK, Skellefteå needed a win against AIK on Wednesday night to keep the playoff series alive. It didn’t work out, as AIK turned around in the third period and won 3-1.
I watched the game together
Frölunda players and managers followed the match, which means Frölunda and AIK will play in SDHL 2023/2024 together.
– We are now in the middle of celebrating, says sporting director Kim Martin-Hasson when Sportbladet calls in just after the final whistle.
How was the weather in the evening?
– It was quite nervous and predictive and they were clearly excited. We had dinner and watched the game.
Kim Martin Husun can look back on a season like no other.
– I’m very proud of the players and captains who did it in such a great way. You say you can’t imagine going undefeated in an entire season.
– Now we have two games left that we want to win.

Are you surprised that things went so well so quickly?
– I had a good feeling before the season and I felt I had a good team and a good management team. In fact, it just seemed like everything clicked and it’s good that I made it this far and it’s over now.
What will the job be like for you in the future?
We’ve come a long way in building the squad for next season, so we have to put the last pieces of the puzzle together.
How do you think the team you have now asserts itself in the SDHL?
– It’s hard to say. We’ve beat two SDHL teams this season and…
