Former soccer star Gareth Bale, 33, has embarked on a new career.
Gareth Bale, 33, ended his football career two weeks ago.
Now the Welshman announces that he will be taking part in a professional golf tournament on the US PGA Tour next week.
“Now we’re driving,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
He was mocked for his interest in golf
The new career choice will not come as a shock to those who followed Bale during his time at Real Madrid.
Some claim it to be one of the greatest in the club’s history as they clinched two Champions League finals. Others claim that he played golf a lot, was mostly injured and eventually had no interest in the club.
– Former Real Madrid player Bidja Mijatović said in October 2019 that Bale’s priorities are Wales, golf and then Real Madrid.

A move that Bale responded to after Wales advanced to the 2020 European Championships. They celebrated alongside his national team mates by raising a flag that read “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.”
At the end of his stay at Real Madrid, Bale was loaned out to his former club Tottenham, where he celebrated his hat-trick against Sheffield United in May 2021 with a golf putt.
After ending his career with the MLS team Los Angeles, the 33-year-old can now call himself a golfer.
