Hack Champions League Champion with Vakifbank

Isabel Hack did something that no Swedish volleyball player on the women’s team had previously done.

On Sunday, she led her own Vakifbank to victory in the Champions League final against Italian Conegliano.

The 22-year-old Swede is generally rated as one of the best volleyball players in Europe. Now she can also, as the first Swedish player, claim the title of Champions League champion.

After two previous recent defeats, she scored 19 points on Sunday night and led her Turkish club Vakifbank to the title, when Kongliano was defeated 3-1 in the final in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Hack arranged the important equalizer to 20-20 in the first set, after which Vakif Punk managed to retake the set with a score of 25-22. The next set also went to Vakifbank, 25-21, before Conegliano saved himself in the match by solving the third set (25-23).

But there was no fifth and decisive group. Vakifbank went back to Group D with a score of 25-21, thus they got their hands on the Champions League trophy.
