Helsingbork set out for Sirius – despite the enormous odds

Helsingborg badly needs the points at the bottom of Allsvenskan.

Against Sirius, there was only one – despite many great positions.

– Damn, we should have scored. Abby Khalili tells Discovery after he gets back that it stings.

Helsingborg had a tough season in the Allsvenskan and won only twice in 18 matches. In front of the midfield Sirius, the home team was looking for three points, but that did not happen.

Both teams had half chances in the first half. In the second, Helsingborg was the closest to breaking the deadlock.

Wilhelm Lauper hit the post in the 56th minute and in the 85th minute, Taha Ali single-handedly created a great position. The star dribbled inside the Sirius penalty area and fired a shot, but it crossed the post.

“It’s burning”

Despite many chances, the match ended 0-0.

– You’re never satisfied with a cross, but with the match starting, I still think it’s OK. We did a good first half, but we are a little nervous in the second half and they are better. Tim Björkström tells Discovery that they are fighting for their lives and this should not be underestimated.

New Helsingborg takeover Abe Khalili was not happy with the cross.

– We are facing a team that is probably the best in Allsvenskan at keeping the ball, so it was difficult. But we’re doing really well, once we win the ball, we create an unbelievable number of good chances. But damn, we should have scored. It burns. But we can’t be too negative, it looks really good for the future, he says.

Helsingborg is now in the qualifying zone with the same points as Degerfors and Sundsvall previously. However, the competitors at the bottom of the rankings played a game less.

Taha Ali was one of the many HIF players who smashed chances against Sirius.
